I observed the class before I agreed to the placement and it was obviously the teacher loves what she does and is professional with her teaching. Hart Street Elementary School.
My daughter was enrolled in Hart Elementary School from grades 3rd-5th. We got nothing, but really good teachers. Additionally, the school leadership "principal and staff" do a fantastic job in creating a safe learning environment for the students, and has always made me feel welcomed.

I think the principal and staff knows what needs to be done to make this a great school. Teachers are awesome. My daughter is on 2nd grade now and there is definitely communication between parents and school with flyers and review periods gives you opportunity to find out how your kid is doing.
Have no complaints of this school so far. Parent Review 6y ago. Melvin Avenue Elementary School. I am immensely disappoint in Melvin Elementary, the bullying is extreme. My child often gets bullied for being white. There is no diversity. Test scores are low and many children are unsupervised at home, which leads to greater issues in the school. The level of exposure these children have to many negative things is sad.

This has been one of the worst experiences of my life dealing with this school. My child in 5th grade went for months saying she wasn't being assigned homework.
Which I thought was strange so decided to investigate further. Turns out she was given homework just wasn't turning it in. The teachers do not have any email so you can communicate with them directly. Tried to set up where a notebook is signed so we know when homework is given and if she was turning it in. Teacher didn't comply. If they care about the kids as they state they are doing why aren't parents being notified of issues.

Small class size, caring teachers,wonderful staff and a true community feel. Martins really prepared her for high school. My daughter is now excelling in difficult honors and AP classes.
